It has been an absolute disaster flying with US Airways this August. In my nine day trip to USA, my flight was cancelled twice, going to USA and coming back to london. Once the flight got cancelled, all the US airways staff disappeared and made us wait two hours in heathrow (that was after us waiting 5 hours for the flight not taking off). I was most suprised when Heathrow staff said that US airways is know to disappear once flights are cancelled. I urge people not to take US airways for international flight. It adds to much to the misery and it is not worth losing 2 days in a nine day holiday. Also, having spoken to the stranded passengers with me, they all the same experience which led to me believe that this is not one-off!
