Avis would not take the voucher saying that they have no agreement with Argus. Luckily there were other cars available and I hired directly through Avis on the spot.

However, getting a refund on the deposit I paid to Argus is impossible. I have been in contact with Argus - for the first 2 months they kept forwarding my e-mails to Avis themselves (after I told Argus I wished to deal directly with them) and now 4 months later there is still no sign of a refund and my case is still 'in progress'.

I suggest people DO NOT deal with this company even though their pricing looks tempting.
