NATIONWIDE BUILDING SOCIETY. Formerly a first class customer friendly Building Society. Since take over of Board Members, remuneration has gone through the roof and the society has gone downhill fast. Customer Service in branches is absolutely abysmal as centralisation to the Swindon HQ has taken place. Telephone customer service is a joke with individuals not empowered to DO anything other than utter platitudes and promise that an advisor will call back. THEY NEVER DO. I am sad at the changes in Nationwide as I have been a loyal member since 1983. Over the last eighteen months my family have cancelled 7 insurance policies with the Nationwide brand and removed £75000 of savings. What more can be said about this finacial institution. Just the one word sums it up. ABYSMAL.
