I feel that Ryders isn't the best school about, despite the lessons being relatively cheap.
The lessons are really too big to actually learn anything properly especially jumping, which we all know can be very dangerous.
the horses, as said by someone else here, are quite robotic, i remember a number of horses who instead of listening to the riders aids, would hear the instructor say "trot on.." ect and they would do it.
however despite this, i have found that they tend to swap and change a lot of their horses, and some of them come and go very easily.. dont know if thats good or bad..
anyway, i think that the helpers and some of the staff, could be more polite, most of them are nice though.
but i had a lesson once where a helper asked if i could change my stirrup lengths.. and i said yes, as i was in one of the more advanced lessons, and she did it anyway and then even tried to show me how to hold my reins! i actually couldnt believe it, and i did tell her that i had ridden there before and i had been riding more than 6 years, so i should be ok.. to be honest the instructor would have been told i couldnt do either of those things, and at the yard i currently work at now, we are allways informed, when helping riders out in and around the lessons, who can do what, or not.
