***** NEVER, NEVER USE PAYPAL TO PROTECT YOU ******
You will have more luck getting protected by a 2 year old than by paypal.
I bought a glass vase (plus other items) from ebay and payed through paypal,
the item then came smashed in thousands of pieces. I contacted paypal to resolve the matter - after a few weeks they contacted my stating that i had to post (due to no companies where i live) the item off to a repair company and get them to check the item and write a report/quote to them confirming that the item was broken. Paypal told me if i didn't do this then they wouldn't protect me has they couldn't take my word for this - even though i could provide photos of this item, paypal have basically sided for the seller even though they haven't replied to any contact.
