This summer I replaced my tatty old 1980s kitchen with a new one from Wickes ("Glencoe" range). There was a significant Summer Sale discount available; the salesman was helpful and did not pressurise me to buy anything I didn't want; the delivery was on time. The build quality is good. There were only a couple of errors in the order and one of those was my own. Returning erroneous/unused items to store was not a problem providing I saw the kitchen salesman each time (one should not expect warehouse staff to know anything about kitchens!). Reordered items turned up on time.

However the Wickes CAD software used to build the order at the store is not infallible - it allowed me to order a wrong size sink and worktop combination. Also the solid surface worktop, when supplied, did not have fitting instructions; we had to call manufacturer (in Texas) to get information.

Other things to point out - Do loads of prep; book your own professional fitters and/or a joiner (fitting a kitchen is a BIG job!); get appliances from an independent supplier; take time off work to be there when the job is done, if not to help out then definitely to supervise.
