We purchased our kitchen from Kitchens Direct after a lengthy consultation. The installation took 8 working days and was fitted on the 6th October. We had problems with the surveyor, design and fitter, and are too lengthy to go into detail. During the inital purchase stage, we were sold a plate stacker which was discontinued, a shower tap but we apparently do not have the water pressure to justify such a tap, a towel rail (never arrived) pull out cupboard tidy (never turned up) but could not be fitted as the fitter had placed a power socket in its place. We are still awaiting a refund for the abouve mentioned items. However, just to point out that as from today we have had nothing but problems with the fitting of the kitchen, have had four fitters to come and rectify the work. Last week I contacted a local kitchen fitter, he advised that the pull out larder was 5mm off to one side and therefore causing a problem with the alignment of the neighbouring cupboards and kitchen hood. He too looked at the pan drawers and informed me that they do not close property because they are beginning to bow in the middle, hence a support underneath would have been a huge benefit.

Like many of the other reviews I certainly would not recommend KD to anyone of my friends or patients. I contacted the Furniture Ombudsman regarding these matters and they are very good and contact the company on my behalf. Before contacting the Furniture Ombudsman I was forever writing and phoning the company, yet my complaint was not taking seriously.


My final point of view is that we purchased this kitchen in good faith and paid up front for this kitchen, and it has been a nightmare, I have had to take time off work to wait for deliveries, fitters and project managers. I wished we had gone to a local company, at least they would have been reliable and done a better job. I have found out that Moben, Sharp and Dolphin are that sister company of KD, as I spoke to a salesman selling the above mentioned products and he informed that they sub contract their fitters!!!!!
