I was trying to arrange a viewing on a property with Bridgfords recently, when the agent during the call got to the question of mortgage arrangements. I told him I was currently arranging my own thank you, but he continued to push his own financial services, after declining his offer again for mortgage 'advice' he then told me that it is Bridgford's company policy that viewing on properties can only be made if I have a mortgage offer already in place which was seen by him.
After I said to him that he was the only agent to put this buying restriction in place, he then said he would 'by-pass' this rule if I came in to see him to 'look at his current mortgage offers'.
Hence to say I will not be viewing this property and also steering clear of properties marketed by Bridgfords.
