PLEASE PLEASE belive the bad reviews for Haggerston Castle. Our 3RD!! Caravan was fine and the staff did help move us but that and the Chinese meal we had whilst there, was the only good things. The entainment area was dark, hot,smelly and you stuck to the carpets and chairs. You had to queue for the swimming pool with certain times for going in and a restriction of an hour (inc changing time)a go. The main area is full of slot machines which could end up costing you a fortune. To hire the swan boats and the six seater bikes you paid £10 for half an hour but you also had to pay £20 as a refundable deposit.We took the boys mid afternoon to book the climbing wall in the park only to find out it was closed.
This was not what I expected since the site was supposed to be a 5star site,we normally go camping in a tent, and over the 20 years weve camped we are used to all different types of sites and amenities, but this would have to rate as the worse site ever honestly. And NO THANKS Haven I dont want to take up your offer of a caravan there permanently discounting the price of my holiday.
