I have used Western Union many times, I have mixed views on the service! If you send to China Chinese banks will try to charge extra for exchanging money into CNY which is already in CNY so Western Union has closed business with many Chinese banks. Chinese banks are often very dishonest, this is not Western Unions fault, it is the banks at fault and WU often close business with Chinese banks for that reason! Tell the person to inform WU if the bank in China try to pull this scam on them! Doing business in China is not easy and big business there is often very currupt at many levels!
