With everybody on MySingleFriend having been described by a friend the site seems to be more likely than most to feature those who are serious about wanting a long-term relationship, who are a touch shy, have profiles that actually tell you something about them, and are written in something approaching normal English.
The profiles are public to non-members, so you can look around before committing to joining (and even once you've joined you don't have to pay until you've found somebody you want to chat with), and the filtering options are good enough that you don't have to see profiles of folks you aren't interested in. However 'new' members are only listed for a week, so if you're away for longer you can miss out; there's no easy way of sorting matching members by their join date afterwards.
