I have hired cars on numerous occaisions from various locations around the world. Arrived on a Sunday at Geneva Airport, first problem is no obvious signage to direct you to the French vehicle collection area, after turning up at the Swiss Eurocar, they gave cursory directions to the French collection area. After half an hour, finally tracked this down to find a single rep and queue of 7 people and took a hour to receive attendance with no apology for the delay. On returning the car on a Saturday, there were 3 reps and no queue! The car was in poor condition and the gears were extreemly sticky causing me to stall on numerous occaisions. Finding your way to the French area from the airport was impossible, there was no obvious signage on the roads and we spent an hour trying to escape to the N41 heading south after asking for directions twice. We were given instructions as to how to return the car to the French side and follwoing these arrived at the Swiss collection point. There seems to be no co operation between the French and Swiss authorities. If flying to Geneva and hiring a car to travel in France, - 'beware' it is the most confusing experience I have ever had. Make sure you fully understand directions from the airport to where you want to go. The car was ok and withstood a local moped rider whacking the rear bumper but the Eurocar experience was the worst I have had to date.
