Just got back from camping at Whitecliff Bay and was very disappointed.
The cleanliness of the shower block was appalling as were the toilets, sinks, clubhouse & the changing facilities at the swimming pool.
The floor of the shower blocks were always covered in hair & grime, even after a jetwash clean that they supposedly carried out!!
The swimming pool was far too small for the size of the site, only had 1 shower and a small changing area and was too far for the kids to go on their own - especially as they had to cross a road to get there - due to these reasons we only went there once in the 12 days we were there.
The shop rules on freezing your ice packs was ridiculous too, they would only let you collect & exchange them between 10am & 5pm. This was totally inconvenient when the majority of attractions open at 10am and close at 6pm.
The bins were always overflowing with rubbish which was disgusting, especially as the majority of them were located with the water taps.
The playground was far too small for the kids, the majority of them were using a park at the back behind the closed climbimg tower which had been cordoned off at some point - god knows when.
For £35 a night (electric hook-up price) we expected a lot better.
Despite this, we had a great holiday as we met lots of lovely people (who all shared the same opinion of the site) and visited lots of fab places.
We will be returning to the Isle of Wight as there's loads to do and has lovely beaches but we will NEVER be returning to Whitecliff Bay.
