Getting the Post Office Travel Money Card is the worst thing we ever did! Because the computer system is undergoing essential maintenance on the busiest weekend of the holiday season with no backup, we are unable to activate our card. This means the first 2 days of our trip we will not have access to any money. We now have to activate the card abroad at our expense. Apparently it is impossible to refund the money we've added to the card. We can't cancel the holiday and now need to see if someone can lend us some money. This has ruined our silver wedding anniversary trip. We would have been better off paying the bank charges to use our debit card and having access to our money. Shame on you Bank of Ireland, shame on you.
