Purchased used Nissan Patrol 30k miles, chosen for claimed reliability and lower priced than equivalent 4x4's. I actually quite liked it and it was civilised on road, however it did prove unreliable with various electrical problems. It was only average off road and build quality was poor compared to some of it's rivals, indeed the front foot wells sufferred serious corrosion and some panels were flimsy and dented easily. I now own a Land rover Defender, and quite frankly it is far superior to the Patrol. The Defender may be crude on road, but it is unmatched off it, it is also better built, much more robust and despite what other envious 4x4 owners spout, it has no serious rival, the Landcruiser is probably the best of the rest.
