Drayton Manor Theme Park and Zoo is a good day out in a compact park. We took our 15 and 12 year olds (and her 12 year old friend). The park was very busy and the rides generally took around 45mins to get on but that was to be expected as it was a weekend in the school hols. The rides themselve were good fun but quite short, especially in comparison with Florida etc. The main problem was the wasps! this is not a minor irritation but a significant issue. This is not the 1st visit and the problem was there 4 years ago too! It isn't acceptable and there are obvious risks to anyone with an allergic reaction to them. This infestation is not advertised and clearly isn't taken seriously enough. In fact it nearly ruined our day as our 15 year old has a real phobia of them and, as a result it made our lunch utterly miserable with upwards of 20 wasps crawling over our food and table, meaning our daughter couldn't sit and eat with us.
Please realise this isn't an isolated problem and if you have issues with wasps you need to consider seriously if you can stand being surrounded by them.
