We visited Blackpool tower as part of the three day break with our four children. After paying £64 to enter the tower, we went to our seats in the balcony area as directed by staff to watch the circus. From what we could see once the action had moved in to the middle of the ring as the lights get in the way the performers were great very talented. After the circus we moved up to the top of the tower this was great also great views of blackpool and the walk of faith once we got to it too many people in one area not a good thing. Also as a disabled visitor to the tower it was not to bad to get around once you managed to get the lift.

The real rip off section for me was the all you could eat pizza and pasta buffet offered for £6.20 per adult 12 and over and £5 for under 12. We went in bought our plates you must buy a plate even if you are not eating(now the sign says you must buy a plate but you cant take the plate with you so you have not actualy bought the plate). Now we have our plate we head over to the buffet area, where we found seven very thin pizzas and a salad bar.I asked one of the members of staff where the pasta was and was instaructed that the pasta selection for today was lasagna.(So how is this a pasta buffet more of a fixed pasta menu). The pizzas looked like they had been thrown together using a Tesco value pizza base with some tommy sauce and toppings. There were no signs showing what the toppings were so you had to guess as my son found out to his peril. He took a slice of what looked like cheese and tomato to find that when he got to the end of the slice it was covered in a chilli sauce.

We had to take our daughter up stairs to the other restaurant area and wow what a change from the rubbish down stairs. The food had taste and you knew what you were getting and value for money was there too, if only we had come here instead of heading into that poor excuse for a pizza and pasta buffet.
The only other bad area was the so called 3d film about dinosaurs this must have been installed when they still roamed the earth it was dated and when watching it looked like it had been removed from some sort of fair ground ride and thrown at a screen.

Blackpool tower you need to get your act together if you want to survive another 100 years.
