I have already recommended ASDA Mobile to friends and my girlfriend also switched to the network a month after I did. Despite low signal coverage, and no hope of finding signal outside of a reasonably sized town, the network claims to cover more than 90% of the UK - my guess is that this is more than 90% of UK cities. Anyway, besides the signal, the price for texts and calls is immense especially considering that it is a Pay As You Go network. 4p for each text! I was paying 10p with Orange, so I have saved a lot of money since switching in December 2008. I'd estimate between £50-100. Customer service is excellent. I have rang a few times asking questions about the network, and to sign up my debit card for top-up, and each time the operator has been extremely helpful. ASDA is the cheapest Pay As You Go plan in the UK according to its TV ad, and I'd recommend it to anyone who isn't on contract.
