took 4 teenagers (x2 13 and x2 15) to thorpe park yesterday and they loved it. did invest in fast track tickets (£9 each for 4 rides and £4 for saw) as would have been a nightmare without them because the queues were long (1.5 hours average) so top tip get fast track tickets early because they do sell out and it would have been frustrating without them and having them made the day. it is a very expensive day but i did it as a holiday treat and made sure the kids realised that and they really appreciated it.

it was very busy but then it is the school holidays so we were expecting this. had ok mag half price vouchers so made it cheaper (2 adults for price of 1) but still came in at about £150 for the day with the fast track tickets. food is ok, burger king is the same wherever you go and it was a cheap lunch for all of us. get the £5 refill capsules and share them - it was a hot day and we must have refilled them 10 times so worth the money! 2 kids shared 1 so not bad value. get the freshly cooked doughnuts if thats your thing, they are gorgeous and fill the kids up!

i didn't go on any rides and object to having to pay to get in when i just sit around all day and have really only gone to drive the kids there and back. would be good if you could get a cheap ticket for people that don't want to go on rides - saw a lot of grandparents that had taken grandchildren for the day and they weren't going to go on saw or stealth! yet had paid £25 to get in!!

something else that is annoying is that 12+ is an adult!! 12+ is not an adult in the real world!!!

all in all not my kind of day but 4 teenagers thought it was great so in my mind that made it worth it. wouldn't take younger children though, is much easier if your kids can go off and do their thing and meet up with you later. i took ok mag, book and a flask of tea and sat in the sun so not a bad day out.
