Have just returned from a week at Elveden with the kids and grandparents. Stayed in a woodland lodge which was very clean and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We hired a "duet" as grandma is mildly disabled, once we got the hang of it it was great to include her in cycling around the forest.
We ate out a lot which can be very expensive, but only the same way that eating out every night is always expensive.Best value portions was the Foresters Inn and best quality food was Cafe Rouge (which surprised me)also not bad value was the dining in takeaway.
We all enjoyed the wildlife and coaxed squirrels in to the lodge for nuts, had swans sitting on the door mat one morning!
The Sub-tropical paradise is excellent and kept the kids busy, swimming after dark is a must as the lighting gives a lovely atmosphere.
Even though it was the height of the season it didn't seem overly crowded.
