Weatherseal conned me into a credit agreement with Hitachi which would have cost me 3 times as much as the windows cost. Salesman said nothing to pay for 2 years with £2,000 cashback, then payments start. He stressed, after questioning from me that I would not have to pay any interest. I had the money to pay for the windows, but he said I should just keep it in my own bank account. After windows were fitted I got a letter from Hitachi to say that they were going to start taking payments the next month from my bank account, they knew nothing about 2 years with nothing to pay. Phoned Weatherseal and they explained that the £2,000 would cover the 2 years with nothing to pay. Pointed out that the payments Hitachi were taking from my account would be over £3,600 over 2 years and was told that was my own fault for not reading the fine print. I also noted on the Hitachi Agreement that once the 2 years were up, if I tried to repay them I would owe £911 for every £1,000 borrowed. This would have meant I would be paying 3 times as much for my windows. Paid Hitachi immediately and still incurred interest for the few days I had the agreement with them. Weatherseal were rude when I complained about the salesman and would not take any responsibility for the lies he told me. Now in contact with trading standards who are making a case against them. How many more people have not noticed the "fine print" and will be owing huge amounts of interest. Weatherseal are obviously getting a huge kick-back from Hitachi. They sold my account to them immediately.
