- Value for money

Been to Vauxhall several times but it seems to be getting worse year on year rather than improving and this year will probably be the last time we visit and will look elsewhere next year. Have to agree with some earlier comments regarding the rudeness and appearance of staff, the entertainment at vauxhall used to be first class and is still pretty good, but it's not what it was, some of the acts are very poor compared to previous years, the entertainments team are a mess these days (they used to look smart in nice skirt suits, but the girls are now wearing manky trousers and red t-shirts looking scruffy and where they used to have bundles of personality they now look to be just going through the motions). The price of drinks is scandalous at night, a double vodka and coke leaves little out of 6 quid. The choice and quality of food is decent enough, no real complaints except the chipshop need to source better quality potatoes and reassess opening hours (whoever has heard of a chipshop right by the entrance to a club, closing before finishing time??). The amusements are a complete rip off, supposed to be 70% payouts on gaming machines but no way is this true, I put £160 into one machine in one go in little over two hours (crazy I know, but kept thinking this has to pay the jackpot soon and don't want someone else getting it, it never did), even the kiddies machines the two and ten pence movers are filled with cheap nasty prizes. The swimming pool is fantastic, the pool/snooker room etc. all sound, but the crazy golf is a big let down (£2.50 each for a round that only has 12 holes). The accomodation is good, we've stayed in most types over the years, swan, breydon, sandpiper, flamingo, kestral the whole lot and no real complaints with any, they are all good standard. We have stayed loyal to Vauxhall because of the high standard a few years back and hoping they'd get back to that level, but sadly we no longer consider this to be good value for money or even that enjoyable a stay, so won't be going back now.

Centre Parcs say that is was due to refurbishment, I beleive it was due to labour costs at this quiet time of the year. Albeit still great choice in the eating department.
