Car: 2005 Honda Accord i-ctdi 2005. getting partexed today. :-) good riddance.
Had my car for nearly 4 years, putting 50k on the clock. I have had problems with this car, fixing some under manufacturers warranty, like corrosion on alloys, misting headlights, however once the honda was out of manufacturers, but still covered under honda extended warranty, the clutch started to slip. I took it to Honda, who want £650 just for inspecting, then if it is down to manufacturers problem they will replace, otherwise it down to me, and it would need a dual mass flywheel as well I was told.I feel gutted, but Honda know about this problem, but fail to acknowledge that it is a common problem, otherwise can you imagine the claims.
I don't drive my car hard with 3 kids, I certainly don't ride the clutch.
Honda UK in slough are a waste of space bunch, who will give you the same rubbish regarding i have to pay for inspection despite mentioning to them the many people who have had the problem.
Just do a search on google 'honda accord clutch slipping'.
It seems Honda designed a weak clutch for a powerful car, and they expect to charge customers £2000 every 30k miles for a clutch and flywheel, which by anyones standards is ridiculous.
