We have just come back from a weeks holiday at the haven Craig Tara site in Ayr, Scotland. Driving up to Scotland from Devon we were dreading arriving at Craig tara due to the reviews we read beforehand about this particular site. As it is August and one of their busiest times we were pleasantly surprised, the staff on arrival were very helpful, the caravan was ready for us on arrival, and was clean and tidy, and the staff explained how all the kids clubs and entertainment worked. Our 8 year old daughter loved the whole week and said it was better than Florida!!!! the Funstar staff were fantastic, and worked very hard, the evening entertainment was brilliant and great fun, and the splashpool was great. The only thing that could have spoilt the holiday, was if we were living next to a big noisy group (which there were a couple) but Haven seemed to keep the bigger groups far away from the families with children which was fine, Ayr itself was also a lovely place and the surrounding countryside was beautiful, but we did make the mistake of venturing into Glasgow and we will not be rushing back there!
If you want a fun filled week in pleasant surroundings on a site that has everything, then Craig tara is the place to go, and dont read too much into the bad reviews, make your own minds up.
