UKDATING.com is one of several sites owned by the same parent company. Other sites include Girlsgofree, Planetpersonals and Splut. To be a member of one, is to be a member of all.

The site itself is easy to navigate. And excellent feature are member's diaries, which forms a sub-community of its own, with customers encouraged to add their own comments to interesting diaries.

Now the negatives. The staff who administer the site aggressively monitor all webchat and even the personal e-mails sent. Any comment at all construed by them as negative results in immediate banishment from diaries, and even removal from the site. Unfortunately, the member is usually unaware of wrongdoing until the admin staff act. By then it is too late.

The end result is that a service that the customer pays for, is withdrawn without explanation.

In summary, what should be a fantastic site, is utterly ruined by the appalling customer service and near tyrannical administration of the site's best features.

    To correct a few inaccuracies in your comment.

    Splut Ltd is the company that owns and runs PlanetPersonals, UKDating & GirlsGoFree, Splut itself is not a dating website.

    The administrators do not "monitor all webchat and personal E-mails", we have neither the inclination nor the time to do so.

    However, if a profile is brought to our attention for unacceptable behaviour and/or fraudulent activity, then we reserve the right to investigate such members.

    In the event of fradulent activity, we purge those profiles immediately in the interest of all of our users.

    In the event of unacceptable behaviour, if it is felt appropriate to remove a user from the site, we reserve the right to do so. We will explain our reasons for doing so to the user by E-mail, and will refund any outstanding membership fees.

    Of course any user being removed from the site will be unhappy about this, but we must do so for the greater good of the community. However, after the initial explanation we cannot enter into protracted telephone discussions with a member about our decision, and ultimately our decision is final.

    We trust that has cleared up the misunderstandings on your part.

    In addition, we are very pleased to hear that you found the site easy to navigate and that you considered some of our features excellent.
