Nationwide are that. They are too big to offer a personal service.
I have got charged twice for being 'late' with a payment regardless of the fact I paid one 2 weeks before due date and one in cash at the branch 2 days before it was due!
The staff member did not know whether my payment would go straight into my account on that day and had to ask his collegue who was equally ignorant!
My payment was not verified until 3 days later and I was therefore charged for 'late' payment.
I think they are rude and unprofessional in the branches and unhelpful in the call centres.
