LAN Airlines is HORRIBLE - Uncomfortable. and clearly staff is SELFISH with no idea of how to make passengers happy or comfortable. When we checked in, front desk woman was clearly good at her job, but offered no consolation in getting our seats. We asked her for seats, she said to ask at the gate. Typically you can get them at the counter. We were 2 hours early! we had submitted all appropriate paperwork. but apparently that's just how they do things. So we rushed to gate 17 and when we got there, the lady, told us there are no seats together and that my daughter and I and hubby would all be separated by rows and rows. In our confirmation, we had 3 seats together. They said they couldn't do anything. It was as if we were late. But we were 2 hours early, so why would seats be held or blocked then they tell us none were together. Then we told the lady we would not go on board with assurance we get at least mom & daughter together. So finally they managed by the nick of their teeth to arrange row 21 two seats together (sardines). But then we heard people behind us who were separated and people behind them that were upset that they were separated. And there was much shifting going on in the plane. Then when we took off, there was some turbulence and kept seat belts on longer than usual. Then the turbulence stopped after 45 minutes and they canceled food service! Just canceled it. Then we were offered NO water, nothing! So, by now, i had to walk to the kitchen and when I saw all 4 airline staff sitting and eating nice dinner I asked them all - when are you all going to feed your customers? They said that since the lights were off they couldn't serve the food. I said, turn the dang lights on. People are sleeping, right but people those who are awake want food, want water at least. Someone could at least walk around and offer. And by the time one girl shoved a sandwich in my hand and said, here is dinner. I said, forget about me, what about all of your customers. Offer them something. I had very little sleep but in that time I noticed that no one came around with water. I had to press my stewardess button and ask them to bring me water.
