I assumed that Saga Car Insurance would be reputable as they are well known and deal with the older client. I had a windscreen smashed and a tom-tom stolen last September. I couldn't get through to their call-centre for advice. When I did, I was told to use THEIR windscreen company. I phoned them and couldn't get through. I chose MY windscreen company and had a new screen within an hour. Saga firstly refused to pay for this! They also refused to pay for a new tomtom as I had purchased a slightly better one (the original brand had been replaced by a newer and better model which was CHEAPER!) After many telephone calls I got a cheque for considerably less than expected. HOWEVER, 6 weeks later I got another letter offering me settlement. They actually were going to pay me out TWICE! The company are useless in my opinion. This year my premium has gone up 307 per cent! I've gone elsewhere!

    I found this review very helpful because it clearly confirms that Saga do not treat their customers fairly and penalise them severely if they ever make a claim.
