Michelin Pilot Power 2CT Review

The Pilot Power 2CT is an exceptional tyre! I bought the new 2009 R1. The 1000cc bikes do tear through back tyres! The standard tyres did not last long at all (Rear, 1500m - Front, 2100m) They were pretty decent tyres to be fair but would work out far too costly to run them. Since the 2CT's have gone on, I will never own a different tyre again. The grip level is fantastic and boosts your cornering confidence right from the word go. They also turn in so quickly and easily. Very predictable and there is so much feel when leaned over that you have more confidence - or awareness - of when the back is starting to come out that you feel like you have more control and ability to ease off the throttle and get it back in line (or if your a better rider than me - like most probably are) you can hold it there and ride through the slide. High siding is not as prominent on the mind with these tyres as any others I've owned. Also - because of the dual compound you are able to get 2 or 3 times as much use out of the tyre compared to the standard tyres. I've done 3000m so far and there is still a fair bit more tread on them. Some mates have said they got 5000m on a set. For me that is well worth the price as in the long run you are paying less for a better tyre. I have not used the racetek's or similar competitors so can not compare, but for anyone who wants an awesome tyre for grip and longevity, you can't go wrong here. I hear the Pilot Power One's are awesome too and are also based on the 2CT compound. Good luck all and ride safe!
