I had an eye test a few months ago, but had decided not to get new glasses as my prescription had not changed that much! However, this week my glasses managed to obtain a nice scratch on the lens, so I had no choice but to get new ones! Having seen the prices of the glasses in the opticians I'd had my previous eye test in, I knew I wouldn't be able to afford any in there (I'm a student!) So, remembering the "should of gone to Specsavers" advert, I had a look on their website. I was impressed by the number of different offers and the good range of frames, starting at just £25. Yesterday I went into the Farnham, Surrey branch just to have a look in person at the frames. I was met by a lovely member of staff. When I asked if I could buy a pair there and then, he said he would need a written copy of my prescription from my previous eye test. I was a bit disappointed as this was 20 miles away in the next town! I think he sensed I was disappointed though, as he checked the system and told me he could fit me in for an appointment in half an hour! Needless to say I was very impressed. Then he told me that because I was planning on buying glasses that day, they would do the test for free! (normally only £21.50, but still, always nice to have something free!) I came back half an hour later and was shown straight in to have my test. The opticians were friendly and very effeicient, I was impressed by the equipment they used as my previous optician was still using the horrible metal glasses frames to test eyes! After the test, I was handed over to another lovely member of staff who asked me what sort of glasses I was looking for. I described something similar to what I currently had, perhaps with slightly thicker frames. He was brilliant and only picked out frames which matched my face shape. In the end I went for a pair from the designer range (£125) but this was well worth it, as any frame £75 or above is Buy One Get One Free! So I got another pair of designers to use as sunglasses free! I was given plenty of time to choose and make my decision. I was told that my glasses would be ready by Saturday (only a 4 day wait) so left pleased! However, I had a phone call the next day saying they were ready for collection!! Very very impressive!!
