Beware of dropping off your Alamo Car Hire car at Manchester Airport early in the morning. The office is closed (although it claims to be open 24 hours!). They charge you an extra day's hire on your credit card even though you return the car well before needed. They put a sign in the window saying drop the key off in the return shute at the rear of the office (way round the back). Why do they need a sign saying "when closed...." if they are open 24 hours??? The car was fine just add another day's car hire to price when you compare prices.
