I took out a Virgin Credit Card purely to pay for my rail season ticket and to have the option for paying as some companies will only accept credit cards. There was an introductory offer of 9 months interest free on balance transfers and purchases which meant I could spread the cost of my train ticket over 9 months and save myself both interest and get the cheaper ticket option.
Application online was easy and pain free and I got my decision later that day via email. My shiny new red Virgin credit card arrived within 7 working days. I rang Virgin money to activate and spoke to a very helpful advisor who talked me through a few more of the card's benefits and offered insurance and fraud protection but didn't press the issue when I declined. I make my monthly payment online using their simple online application after I receive notification by email about my statement. So no more paper statements! So far I've been very happy with both the card and the customer service and would wholly recommend.
