I am currently in dispute with Canadian Affair. I booked reserved seats, for my wife and self, on the front row aisle/window in November 2008; arguably the best seats in the cabin. We were told that the booking desk at Manchester opened 2 1/2 hours before departure and arrived 1 1/2 hours before the flight. On arrival at Manchester we were informed that we had been allocated the last 2 seats on the flight in the central 3 configuration block and well apart from each other. I am 78 and my wife 77; we had booked very early as my wife has a bladder problem and osteoporosis. I should emphasize that on the airbus A330-200#1 there are no exit doors by the front seats. When I asked for an explanation we were told the booking desk had been open for 4 hours, that we should have been there earlier, and that we would be refunded the booking fee for the seats, but no more, as this was company policy. On boarding the aircraft the Thomas Cook airline chief steward did his best to improve our mutual proximity, but we still ended up in the central block one behind the other.

We gave our booking documents to the chief steward and he promised to forward the information to Canadian Affair. Nevertheless we encountered a similar problem on our return flight from Vancouver being together but only at the rear in the central block.

Despite all our problems we did not receive any form of apology from Canadian Affair until 9 days after we arrived back in England, and that was only given after I had sent a series of emails suggesting that this was necessary. They are adamant in refusing me anything more than the seat reservation cost and offer no valid explanation for their errors. The correspondence from the customer service department in London invariably contains errors in grammar and punctuation. This is only a brief summary of our experience in a dispute which is ongoing.

I could have written this review myself! Exactly the same thing happened to us on our recent trip to Canada. Canadian Affair do not care about the customer at all - be warned - just because you have paid and reserved a seat it is doubtful you will get it and when you complain you will get no satisfaction from them at all.
