I have booked with BOOKABLE HOLIDAYS twice before and all was well. However this time I needed the after sales service and that is were all my knighmares began.

With 7 weeks to go I needed a name change and a refund as they had taken an extra unauthorised £350 from my credit card.
In the subsequent 4 weeks I sent;

- One letter to head office
- 5 emails
- 2 phone calls were I was actually connected after 22/25 minutes on hold.
- 1 phone call were I was on hold and gave up after 37 minutes.

Bookable has responded with
- 2 automated email responses with a promise of getting back to me 'hopefully before the end of the day'. (which didn't happen).
- One assurance that the manager will process my refund next day and change the name.(she doesn't work wednesdays)- nearly two weeks and still counting.
- One assurance that the name was changed and a charge of £80, yes £80 to change a name on a ticket that hasn't even been typed yet.

When the confirmation of the name change was mailed to me I was shocked to find THE NAME HAD NOT BEEN CHANGED AT ALL. And I am still waiting.

Bookable Holidays' charge for a name change (in their words) is dependant on the charge passed on from the airline. However when I contacted my airline I was told they charged only £30 not £80. Infact the girl I spoke to was horrified.

I normally book my holidays on line and this is the only bad experience I have had.

I recommend anyone thinking of booking with Bookable Holidays to first phone the number for their after sales service (0871 855 8101)and see how long you have to wait to speak to someone. And please keep in mind that it is the same after sales team you will be calling from abroad should their be an issue with hotel or flights or worse. Can you imagine being on hold for 45 minutes in the midst of an emergency?? Something to think about.

    I found this review very helpful because...i am thinking of booking a holiday with this company. I also asked how much it would be for baggage costs and they said £40 in total to egypt. i called up anoher company and they were horified too becuase they only charge £16 in total.
    should i call up bookable and explain this to them

    I have the same dispute with them ongoing. Only my trip to Egypt is £48 per person per bag, not to mention the transfer charges (that I also hve to pay locally for a return.)

    I am overcharged £96 for baggage, as I booked the flights myself and £24 for return transfers.

    3 phone calls,
    1 letter and
    2 emals to date.

    I will not let it lie. There must be governing body that can strip them of their accreditation. I shall keep going.
