My sister booked the deluxe makeover at New ID Burlingtons for herself, her best friend and me and we went to the Manchester studio yesterday. It started off very well with the receptionist offering us drinks, but went downhill from there. Our shoot @10.am started slightly late and we were the last ones to leave at 5.00pm in the evening - I couldn't believe the amount of time it had taken and most of it consisted of waiting for something. We didn't bring any snacks or have lunch (we were told the experience would total 4 hours) and we were exhausted at the end. My hairdresser was good, my friend's hairdresser was fantastic, but my sister's hair looked as if it had been dragged through a ditch.

The manicure for which I paid £5 extra was done very roughly, my nails were filed for a couple of seconds and polish put on which chipped on the day. My makeup was awful. The photographer was the best, friendly, creative - but the photo prices extortionate. We gave a deposit and I have no idea if that has been refunded or ever will be. My advice? Know exactly what you are getting in your plan, ask how long things will take, book on a weekday (less people) and speak up if you're unhappy with something.
