I dont have the best credit history,but i am kicking myself now as i have purchased a car from ACF Car Finance,WHAT A MISTAKE!!!
If i can advise people before you buy,dont bother,dont even go there.
I was approved online before i went,and was only interested in a particular car,and i was advised they had my particular car in stock.
So i made the 100 mile trip to my LOCAL branch.
On arrival,the salesmen are all friendly while you are in there,you couldnt ask for a better mate,they will bend over backwards for you,because they have you in their little trap.
After going through all the necessary paperwork,being informed of cashback,approving identity,and being escorted to a cash machine to pay a £200 deposit,we finally went to view cars in my BUDGET.
We went into their secure car park at the rear,and i was confronted by approx 40 cars.None of them was the particular car i was interested in.
I was shown cars i wouldnt be seen dead in.One car did catch my eye,and i ended up coming away with it,although pleased with the car i was astounded to find out that it was very over priced,and also paying a higher rate of interest too.All this was discovered too late,my own fault i know,but will advise anyone to steer clear or read the agreement thoroughly.
I was told that i would receive cashback in the form of a cheque within 28 days,after 21 days i had received nothing so i gave a courtesy call to enquire about the cheque,only to be told i wouldnt be receiving one as this has been taken off the price of the car,and i agreed to this in the paperwork,news to me,but apparently i initialled the paperwork and my cashback disappeared.After complaining to their complaints department,as i was informed that their customer services department do not deal with cashback issues,i received a rather abrupt letter explaining that basically i wasnt getting any cashback.
Overall i have a £6000 car and am paying £21000 for it over 5 years.
