Wanted to visit North Berwick so seton sands seemed the ideal place to stay for an inexpensive break. Booked the Prestige Caravan (3 bed) so we could check in a bit earlier and have the comfort, which was true. The caravan has what you need but still smelt like cat wee!!! thank god we were in Forth View (all the different parts are names after famouse golf clubs)and far away from the centre. As you come in there is the fish and chip shop which is very expensive, then there is the kids play park which even at 10pm is full of young and older teenagers screeming and shouting so hope to god you don't get a caravan near them as no one controls this. The caravan was nice but there was no way in this world you would have got 6 adults in there - I just about managed to get my 3 year old safe and comfy in one of the rooms! The shower is a power shower (heaven) the kitchen has everything you need and the heating is a god send especially first thing in the morning! As the days went on I was quite impressed with the facilities the caravan had. The park it self really is dire. There was a punch and judy play one day but all you really have to do is play on endless slot machines or swim in a very overcrouded pool. Buying a caravan is thrown down you neck all the time which becomes very boring and anoying. Overall stay there but get yourself out. North Berwick is beautiful and the beach is clean and safe we went there for 2 days -fab! Don't bother with the zoo in edinburgh as it is about 12 miles up hill and most of the animals were cramp up and asleep we spent 2 hours there before getting out..... go early if you do go as the que when we were coming out was massive. Gullane was a beautiful village with excellent pitch and put for the children and lovely tea/cafe shops. Golf courses are great (or so my husband said) about 12 in a 20 minute drive.
I would possibly go back just for the trips to North Berwick, but don't do the entertainment, people in stupid costumes running around a small stage and a rendition of "sex on fire" from one of the staff. It is Haven I understand that but it was a park full of kids and teenagers who gave up all their lessons of manners for a weeks holiday - in my opinion I think their parents were in the bar whilst their kids ran round the park - not good. DON'T FORGET TO REQUEST A CARAVAN AWAY FROM THE CENTRE!!!
