We'd been told by friends who work in the travel industry that the best time to book flights is the exact day they go on sale, so in August 08 we kept calling Dial A Flight to book flights to Miami for August 09 but kept getting told to ring the following day. The day they finally went on sale we rang Dial A Flight, was quoted £388 per person - brilliant. Paid a deposit and waited for paperwork. It arrived about a week later,there were spelling mistakes on the names and the figures were a lot more than what we'd been quoted, we rang them and they said they'd sort it and send out new paperwork - we never got any. About 3 weeks later in a procession of 3 days we then received 3 email amendments of our booking, showing various flight cancellations etc and various different charges, I rang Dial A Flight and told not to worry, it was simply to put their figures right. Finally got the bill in June but as I was away on business the husband paid it - assuming it would be correct, but it wasn't - they'd overcharged us by nearly £400!!! I've since called Dial A Flight and they're refusing to budge, basically they've actually charged us around £515 per flight - despite them agreeing that if you book on the first day of sale the tickets are cheaper but not acknowledging that £515 is definitely not a cheap flight (I actually went on the Virgin Atlantic website and could have got the filghts for £489 per person if I booked them today!)On my new itinery there are entries on there showing more cancellations etc right up to 17th Feb 09 - I think because they kept cancelling the flights (god only knows why!) and re-booking them they've actually charged me the price of what it would be to have booked them on 17th Feb - £515. I'm furious with both Dial A Flight and myself for trusting them, but as I'd used them twice before and hadn't had any problems I expected them to be competant - DEFINITELY WON'T BE USING THEM AGAIN!!!!
