- Have you made a claim?Yes
This is my 1st year of being insured with Tesco and this is the only year in 10 yrs which i have had to make a claim. After reading some of the reviews i was dreading it! However i had no problems whatsoever. My 10 yr old staffie bull terrier had 2 tumors removed from his ear and side and Tesco paid up in full(£400+)within a week. All i paid was the £120 excess then they paid the vets direct, no messing around me paying it all then claiming it back, which i believe some companies make you do. They even rang me to say that they had paid up and let me know that he is still covered for the next 12 mths. The only critisism i have is that when renewal time comes round you are pretty much forced to stay with them as any other company would exclude this condition as a pre existing condition. Tescos know that this is going to be the situation so they use that to their advantage. Needless to say when my renewal arrived it had gone up over 100%!!!! Although i expected it to go up due to the fact that i had made a claimand the dog was another year older i feel that over 100% is well excessive!!
