Yorkshire Bank services is so behind the times & I thought I was a technophobe! To access my YB visa card (I've had it for years) online or by telephone banking you have to have a YB bank account - which I don't. For various reasons I couldn't make payment in my usual way so rang to see if they would take payment over the phone with my debit card as due date looming & it was a one off situation. After 22 mins of discussion they said they could only take payment that way if I was IN ARREARS - what difference does that make in accepting a payment!! Do you have to be in arrears these days before these places help/talk to you! She told me to post a cheque if possible, even tho I said I was unable to leave the house & it should reach them it time (not enough time for our postal service these days I said). Said she would put note on my account re conversation but guess I'll still get charged if payment is late. Although never had other problems with account apart from same lack of access said it would be a reason for leaving them. She did agree that the system was not good enough in that respect & would pass my views on. I guess by the tone of her answer I'm far from being the first person to complain about this. Frustrating!!
