I felt that I had to write to warn others about my experience with 1st Central Insurance.
I took out a car insurance policy with them because I was sold by how much cheaper they were compared with other quotes, however, this turned out to be a big mistake!
I took out my policy with them and when I received the policy I had a query and tried to ring them... I rang them on and off for days and nobody would ever answer the phone. I sent them emails (their preferred means of contact) and nobody replied. After a while alarm bells started ringing and I started to worry "what would happen if I had an accident.. there is no one to speak to!" So eventually after nearly a week of ringing at various times I finally got through to someone and I took the opportunity to cancel my policy. I was also still within my 14 day "cool down" period.
They explained that I needed to write a letter confirming this and to return my insurance certificate which I done within a couple of days. That was a week ago now and I have received a generic email about cancelling my policy and that is it! I have not received a call/email/refund of my deposit. Nobody answers the phones so you cant speak to them and no one has replied to my emails....!! NIGHTMARE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! 0 out of 5 stars for me and I certainly would not recommend them!!
