We were in the market for a new kettle and thought that this tefal quick cup would be a great idea. Worked fine for the first few weeks and then got louder and the water temperature dropped. We were aware that the quick cup did not boil the water, however I measured the water temperature at just a shaving over 70 degrees celsius... just about ok for a quick coffee but useless for tea, gravy or cuppa soups. I run a twin gang Gagggia espresso machine and so I used Gaggia descaler to thoroughly descale the heater matrix. I also replaced the filter (very expensive). There was no change to the water temperature and so it was returned to the store for a refund. The shop (which will remain nameless) refunded with no question. They advised that every one that they had sold had been returned and that they were no longer going to stock it. We replaced it with a Brevile Hot Cup, which is another one cup solution and we have had no problem with this, and the added bonus of boiling hot water. In a nutshell the Tefal Quick Cup is a noisy, badly designed and inherently flawed device. AVOID!
