Just visited La Tasca on Greek Street in Leeds. I have to say that the service was quite good - our Autralian waiter from Perth was excellent! However the food was terrible. The paella should have been done under the trade descriptions act. Its was greasy, it had been cooked on an oven, they had used tumeric instead of saffron BUT - the worst thing was that they used black (Maybe squid) ink to colour the bottom of the paella pan to simulate the burnt/crunchy bottom that is the best bit of an authentic paella!!! So the rice at the bottom was black, greasy and soft - yuch. On the plus side we complained and it was removed from the bill.
The ribs were very good - tasty and soft, the meatballs were acceptable and prawns in batter quite tasty with light crisp batter. Calamari were, unfortunatly, like chewing a thick rubber band. All in all I would say to give this place a miss until it gets its act sorted. Its a pity as its well decorated and a nice looking restaurant. But if the food isnt up to scratch then it really defeats the point of going.....
