We have played Santa Clara three times over the last 2 years. This year we played it twice, and it is perfect for holiday golf; interesting, and differing types of holes. I defy anyone who reads the plaque by the 12th Tee, not to smile to them self; it is not overly long, the fairways are wide and the greens receptive. The course is played a lot and can have some slightly scruffy areas, but don't let that put you off. The owners understand just what holiday golfers want. Staff meet you at your car, take you to the reception, and load your clubs onto the buggies. You are left to practice on the excellent practice ground, or warm up in the magnificent Clubhouse, with a coffee. There is even a proper starter, for that added wow.
