Beautiful holiday. We went to Lakka. It is hot, sunny, and such a lovely place. The views are lovely, and it is warm even at night. At 10 at night, for example, you could wear a suntop because it is that warm. The seas are blue, clear and warm, and snorkeling in them you can see loads of differnent fish etc.. The beaches are sandy and rocky, and the beaches at nearby Anti-paxos (only a boat trip away) are stunning. Also, on the boat trip to Anti-paxos, you could see wild dolphins leaping up though the waves alongside the boat, as we did. The food is typically Greek and delicious, with the typical Greek feta salad a favourite of mine. The little tavernas/restaurants along the small harbour serve food suitable for families and vegetarians. There are some small shops selling food and touristy things, although Paxos is very quiet and 'Greeky' because there is no airport, and the tiny island is only roughly 7 miles long and 3 miles wide. To get there you fly to Corfu airport, then take the hydrofoil across to Gaios, the capital of Paxos. Gaios and Lakka are the only places in Paxos to have a cashpoint machine, and on Paxos there are 3 main villages, Loggos, Gaios and Lakka. There are many a) orange and lemon trees b) olives! and c) cats. It is the most wonderful place, hot, sunny and picturesque everywhere and amazing. However, if you are a partying person, Bastas Complex is not for you. In Lakka, at least, there is hardly any (if any) night life. It is quiet and peaceful. I loved it all!
