Virgin Media......Absolute nightmare from day one. Recommend a friend? I did it twice and never saw any hint of the promised £30.00 'reward'. Got so frustrated I had to call customer un-support with the dreadful speeds my so called 'up to 10mb broadband'was running at. It was getting unusable to the point of being unable to download even a page under a minute. Had to use my mobile which will probably require me to take out a bank loan and after eons of questions, was directed to a broadband speed test. (We run on ethernet, no router plugged in, just a direct cable connection) and low and behold! We are running at a whopping 550kbs down speed with a rather sickening 435kbs up speed. Rather under their 10mb promise? I am paying £25 a month for this joke of a service. They told me to phone back tomorrow morning because it might be down to the amount of traffic. It's almost midnight. It will be even slower tomorrow. And there will be another minimum of £10 in call costs also to look forward to. And what will they do? Probably absolutely nothing aside from blame our (new, quick) computer. I despair, I really do. We have no phone line so we can't use another service provider so we are stuck with this pathetic circus of a company. I cannot un-recommend Virgin enough. Their packages are confusing, I never know where I stand with what deal I am getting and feel permanently ripped off. New customers will no doubt pay half of what I have to pay now. Maybe I should sell all my possesions and live in a cave near a mountain range. Virgin Media not required. It was never this bad when it was ran by NTL.
