Opened a Web account (Online Saver Issue 5) on 13th July, attracted by the interest rate and what I thought would be the ease of access via the internet. Received a customer number pretty much straight away.
"PIN number to follow in a few days" it said. I waited and waited and then after a week and a half I rang Alliance And Leicester. Sorry, we'll send you another. I waited a further week. It arrived. I tried it and it didn't work - account locked it said. I rang again and they said they can't reset it but can issue another PIN. No thanks, I said - please close this account. In summary, account was open for three weeks and I didn't even get access to it. APPALLING !
