I would not recommend thomas cook to anyone, especially if you are booking over the internet!



We tried to book flights with them online. When I had finished the booking process and entered my card details a notice appeared saying that the booking had failed and i was given a number to ring. I rang this number and was told that the flight wasn't available (even though it was shown online) and that they had charged me for this. I checked my bank and £350 had gone out, i rang again and they said that they hadn't claimed the money and that it was in a holding account and that i would recieve it in 3 -5 days.



Whilst on the phone i asked if they could get a different flight for the same price and claim the money. You would think that they would do this seeing as they had basically charged me for a flight that didn't exist, however they wanted an extra £100 because we were booking over the phone. I decided just to go along with this as i wanted to get my holiday sorted so they booked us on a flight and retook my card details. However i was phoned late and told that the flight i had just paid the extra for was again unavailable and any other flight would be alot more expensive! i decided to quit then and demanded all my money back, when i was again told that i couldn't get it back for at least 5 days. It took nearly 2 weeks for the money to come back to me and by this time the flight prices with all other airlines had risen! I had also paid around £20 ringing them!



Do not use thomas cook! we are now using thomson, they are more help full and we haven't had any issues with them.



Thomas cook will also try to charge you money to sit with your family/friends on your flight which i thought was awful!

The same has happened to me twice! I'm supposed to fly with my partner and son in 4 days time. I have spent all day on the phone. They have assured me that no payment has been made. I have assured them that my bank has confirmed that the money has been taken out. Four months ago the same happened and it took me 2 months to get my money back. I am now waiting for customer services to call me back. They have to do an investigation to check if they have been paid. I was offered to pay for the flights again at the increased rate!!! I am going to report them to ABTA.
