Great fun! My Honda SCV100 Lead Lead was just a stepping stone for me before moving onto a 750 cc bike.

In the 9 months I had it, it covered over 10,000 miles.

It cost me £1150 new (well, pre-reg) a good £500 cheaper than some 50cc's I'd been looking at. Very cheap to run I averaged about 110 MPG (and I'm fat!)

Acceleration on it was impressive, although, I'd reccomend taking it easy, mine ate it''s first rear tyre after only 3,000 miles, after that I learnt to refrain from full throttle starts at the traffic lights, and the 2nd tyre was still good after a further 7,000 when I traded it in.

Loved going out on it at weekends and covering a few hundred miles, taking plenty of breaks tho, small wheels + country roads = sore bottom! My only real problem was with the size of the fuel tank, but a jerry can bungeed to the pillion grab rail did the job for longer trips.

Very easy and quick to service. I've seen some scooters and cheap bikes that after 6 months of light use are covered with rust, not with the lead, 9 months of hard riding in all weather conditions, stored outside with no shelter, not a spot anywhere on it (and it didnt get cleaned very often).

My verdict: For commuting and short journeys, brilliant, can't fault it. For cross country runs, buy a cruiser or touring bike, not a scooter!
