KLM, once the pride of the Netherland is now more and more an overprices easyjet. We had a flight to Bankok with a Boeing 74E and thats a plane belonging in a museum. Very narrow seats and some central screens for entertainment. So 1970's! on that screen they showed a program how to use the entertainmentprogram and this was excualy about a modern entertainmentprogrem that you will get on new planes. How sarcastic! I'm a frequent flyer elite member and that gives you the prevelige to select a seat 30 days in advange. Because we are traveling with a baby we found that very nessecary. So we did. But when we arrived the seats were no longer ours. First they tried to say that these seats were not suitable for travelling with a baby but we had the same seat on the way in. So we asked for a better explanation. There was. The seats were given to a platinum elite member. So there are always better appreaciated clients. Than we asked if there was still room in First class and if we could upgrade(by paying extra off course, because service is only a theoratical thing at KLM) And they said there were seat available but that the computer simply didn't work propally so in the end that wasn't possible either. This is while we were willig to pay for it. The only possible thing was to trough away our econemy tickets a buy new businessclass tickets. I was even thinking of doing that when i remembers the shape businessclass was in on a 47E Boeing. Just forget about it! Don't spend the absurd fare for such an old fart plane. Another poor thing about KLM in general is that the made a deal with Unilever(a Dutch based international Food company) The deal is that al the meals you get are nothing more than cheap food sampling of Unilever products. I really don't understand who the KLM staff still can work for this cheap public transporter with so much pride and joy. Because that is perhaps the only positive thing i can say about KLM. They have some very nice people working in the cabins. If you like the Dutch direct approach that is.
